This blog is in memory of our beloved Border Collie Tippy who died on July 28th 2010. Every Sunday over the course of the next few months I will post memories and pictures of her life with us, both as a working farm dog, family pet, best friend and work mate.

Good friends.

This weeks pictures of Tippy are really just a reminder of what a great dog she was with regard to other dogs. Within the space of a month she went from being the only dog of the household for ten years to being one of three dogs and she never kicked up any sort of a fuss about it at all. Her and Tommy became great friends and I think he helped her to come to terms with her retirement from being a working farm dog and she in turn calmed Tommy down from being the wild dog that he was when he came to us. Vicki and I always thought they became like husband and wife, Tippy certanly used to keep him in order and well and truely rounded up.

  1. Relationships between dogs are amazing. I think they often catch us by surprise. It allows us to see a different side of our dog develop.

Tommy will carry Tippy in him for the rest of his days, and pass some of her wisdom onto Tess.

  2. It reminds us of our dog's relationship, but more of a Mother-Son thing. Wyatt needs discipline!
